The University of Manitoba Bisons standout figures to have an important role with the club and learn from teammates who boast impressive resumes, both of which will be invaluable to his ongoing development.

The 21-year-old Winnipegger is also prepared to do whatever is asked of him. His confidence has grown substantially since his first year of pro basketball.

Last year, the Winnipeg Sea Bears burst onto the local sports scene with tons of enthusiasm, thrilling basketball action and lots of great heart! Plus, we’ve just gotten word that UM Bisons and 2023 Brown and Gold Rookie of the Year Simon Hildebrandt was chosen as first round draft pick for the upcoming season. The team’s owner is Winnipeg businessman, lawyer, former Dean of the Faculty of Law, and UM alum David Asper [BA/80, LLD/22]. 

The CEBL introduced the Winnipeg Sea Bears as its newest member in November 2022. The CEBL features 10 teams in six provinces, making it the largest pro sports league in Canada, and they have the highest percentage of Canadian players of any pro league in the country. Players bring experience from the NBA, NBA G League, top international leagues, the Canadian National team program, and top NCAA programs as well as U Sports. The CEBL season runs from May through August.
