UM receives funding for child maltreatment and child welfare research

On July 20th, the Government of Canada announced nearly $900,000 in funding to the University of Manitoba for a project aimed at increasing research capacity in child maltreatment, child welfare and family violence.

Urban Mobility and Transportation Informatics Group (UMTIG) is a group focused on excellence in the areas of urban mobility and transportation informatics and bringing high quality results to their partners and clients. Although UMTIG has been an institution on campus since the 1990’s they were recently recognized as a research group by the University of Manitoba.

FAUM students win first prize and merit awards in the LYCEUM Competition

Michael Fitzpatrick wins first prize and Brock Dueck wins a merit award under the competition hosted by LYCEUM this year, Old Town Mall - Reimagined. As the final project of their Environmental Design, Landscape and Urbanism studio, Emergent Futures, they worked with professor Marcella Eaton to respond to the design challenge of reimagining Old Town Mall in Baltimore, Maryland, USA.
