The Department of Icelandic Language and Literature has established a "free play" tradition which encourages students to pursue original projects and create new works inspired by Old Norse myths and legends. Creation Myths of the North: An Exhibit of Student Artwork shows some of the pieces created by students over the last few years.

Jacob Scheier is the newest Writer-In-Residence at The Centre for Creative Writing and Oral Culture (CCWOC) at the University of Manitoba. Scheier will work with students, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the public from September to December 2022.

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, invests 10 Officers (O.C.) and 13 Members (C.M.). into the Order of Canada during a ceremony at Rideau Hall on 6 May 2022. The Order of Canada is one of our country’s highest honours. Appointments are made for sustained achievement at three levels: Companion, Officer and Member. Officers and Members may be elevated within the Order in recognition of further achievements, based on continued exceptional or extraordinary service to Canada. Second cohort of Master of Human Rights program graduates

The Faculty of Law proudly congratulates the Master of Human Rights graduating class of 2022. Celebrating the conclusion of their program at a gala event at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights on June 10th, the twelve members of the third cohort of graduates from this unique interdisciplinary program said farewell to Robson Hall and set off to pursue careers in Human Rights advocacy. We asked a number of these incredible students to share their experiences taking this degree.
