On March 20, the second cohort of the President’s Student Leadership Program (PSLP), the James W. Burns Leadership Institute's marquee initiative, gathered in a virtual celebration to mark program graduation and achievements.

March 26, 2021 — 
On March 18 and 19, the Asper School of Businesses' Indigenous Business Edcuation Partners and the James W. Burns Leadership Institute hosted the inaugural Emerging Themes in Indigenous Business research conference. Two hundred people from around the world including Australia, New Zealand, France, The United Kingdom, Chile,  Mexico and across Canada participated in the two-day conference.  

March 26, 2021 — 
Fourth-year Asper student, Aimy Johnson, has been awarded the 2020 UM Co-op Champion Award. In 2020, Johnson worked as a marketing intern at Innovair Group. She was involved in website development, planned new products and services, managed the company’s social media, and was a member of the corporate Pandemic Response Team, Safety Committee, and Wellness Team. Johnson also helped launch Innovair’s marketing campaign, Connections.

March 24, 2021 — 
On March 12, UM students added another case competition win by placing first at the Munich Re Cup, an actuarial business case competition open to students in the Canada and United States. The competition provides a chance for students to develop and apply their analytical, presentation, and problem-solving skills to real-world business problems.

Former NFL defensive end, entrepreneur and philanthropist Israel Idonije [LLD/14] first found his passion for leadership as a member of the UM Bisons football team.

This year the Stu Clark New Venture Championships – Graduate Edition went virtual for the first time.

A duo of Asper undergraduate students paired up with the Price Faculty of Engineering to place first in the Digital Workplace Innovation Case Competition
