April 6, 2022 — Congratulations to the 2022 Canada Gairdner International Award Laureate: Dr. John E. Dick, PhD, FRS, FRSC, [BSc. (Hons.)/78, PhD/84], Senior Scientist and Canada Research Chair in Stem Cell Biology, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, UHN; Professor, Department of Molecular Genetics, the University of Toronto. The Gairdner Awards recognize some of the world’s most significant biomedical and global health research and discoveries. This award recognizes Dr. Dick's discovery and characterization of leukemic stem cells, which has provided insights into the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of acute myeloid leukemia.

UM’s Flexible Work Arrangement for Summer 2022 : Campus News
April 6, 2022 — As President Benarroch noted in his March 23 message, UM is cautiously increasing in-person activity. We have eased some restrictions and the current plan is that, with the exception of approved distance education (DE) courses, Summer Term classes will be held in-person. In order to fully support the increased in-person instruction on campus, some employees have already begun their return to campus and others will be required to return after the end of Winter Term.
