Homecoming 2022: Celebrating a 50-year partnership between Legal Aid Manitoba and Robson Hall : Network News
October 6, 2022 — The Faculty of Law hosted its 2022 Homecoming event on September 21 in collaboration with Legal Aid Manitoba to celebrate the 50-year partnership that has existed between the two institutions. Since 1972, Legal Aid lawyers have supervised law students working at the University of Manitoba Community Law Centre (known as the Legal Aid clinic) to provide experiential learning opportunities to law students and ensure access to justice to persons who cannot afford a lawyer.

Expanding the GST credit might be more helpful, but other ways to supplement or replace provincial social assistance programs, such as a guaranteed basic income for working-age Canadians, might provide better support for those in need.

Graduate nursing students partake in Reconcili-action workshop : Campus News
October 3, 2022 — On Sept. 6 and 7, graduate nursing students participated in Reconcili-action Begins with Education: Turtle Island Project Experiential Exercise for Graduate Nursing Students. The workshop took students through the history between Indigenous Peoples and settlers, beginning before European settlers came to Turtle Island to present-day reconciliation efforts.
